LAVA – Pet Microchip Services (PMS) sold to Identi
LAVA was approached by Lisa Hunter, CEO and founder of pet-protection company Pet Microchip Services, to act as lead advisor in their sale process following a successful previous collaboration on a 2019 transaction. Having already been approached by interested parties, PMS leadership decided the time was right to engage an innovative advisor to assess the incoming offers, lead negotiations, and deliver an optimum result.
LAVA facilitated introductory meetings to the existing prospects, providing clarity on the legitimacy of the interest, the potential value of offers and the deliverability of each available option while simultaneously conducting market testing for the appetite, feasibility and deliverability of other potential acquirers.
LAVA's negotiation expertise came to the fore with compelling offers received from two parties confirmed as solid options for the future of the PMS business. LAVA partner, Hamish Martin, worked closely with all parties to agree commercial aspects of the transaction and maximise the outcome to provide PMS with a deal that exceeded their expectations.
Identi was confirmed as the optimal partner to support the future of PMS in line with their commitment to protecting pets across the UK, and LAVA is delighted to have facilitated such a great match.
Speed was of the essence to deliver the deal ahead of potential CGT changes and the dedicated LAVA team were on hand throughout the process, seamlessly progressing information requests from the prospective acquirers and managing the end-to-end due diligence process, enabling the PMS team to focus on their existing operations.
LAVA's highly technical team approach ensures all necessary data is gathered, analysed and communicated with confidentiality, speed and accuracy, as well as telling a compelling story of the company, and offloads much of the complexity from the vendors.
