LAVA Advisory Partners boosts technical offering with the appointment of Rob Telkman

LAVA Advisory Partners is delighted to announce Rob Telkman has joined their expanding team as Associate Director. With a background in financial due diligence and SPA advisory within private equity and financial services sectors, across a multitude of industries and geographical locations, Rob is set to deliver advanced technical expertise and insights to LAVA’s growing client base.

Rob joins LAVA after impressing the team as a consultant on a number of upcoming deals, demonstrating his technical skill set and a fresh perspective gained from years of consulting for private equity and private equity-backed companies.

Rob’s freelance position follows a distinguished career at Deloitte, where he trained as an accountant in the firm’s tax department before moving to the company’s M&A Transaction Services practice in 2015. Here, Rob focused on the financial aspects of M&A contracts, as well as managing financial due diligence and similar engagements for a varied range of global clients, becoming highly skilled at deploying technical knowledge throughout the M&A process.

At LAVA, our recruitment policy doesn’t follow typical industry protocol. We actively look for people who will add alternative thought processes and perspectives to our team. This approach ensures we are constantly challenging ourselves to find the most interesting – and sometimes left-field – solutions for our clients. With deep experience in preparing finance teams for sales and his true entrepreneurial spirit, Rob offers up new ways of thinking that have proven invaluable to our work, and I have no doubt will continue to do so.

Simon Woodcock Partner, LAVA Advisory Partners

Rob commented: “I am thrilled to join the LAVA team after seeing first-hand as a consultant how their “back to first principles” mindset and entrepreneurial working environment generate great ideas that lead to valuable and bespoke solutions for their clients. I am looking forward to learning from my colleagues and bringing my own experience to LAVA’s refreshing approach to deal-making.”

Rob’s arrival at LAVA reflects the firm’s continued growth trajectory, including recent deal completions for clients Silverfish Ltd and Cura Terrae. This growth has been fuelled by the team’s fresh and creative approach to M&A, which sees the rethinking of traditional practices in favour of efficient, disruptive and high-performance strategies.

Striving to find new, different and unusual angles to business problems, LAVA bring curiosity and energy to their deals to always ensure essential solutions are not just financially acceptable but an excellent social and cultural fit.
