LAVA Advisory Partners facilitates high-security deal in aerospace and defence with e2E sale

LAVA Advisory Partners is pleased to announce the completion of the sale of e2E on behalf of its founders, management team, and YFM Equity Partners, to Telespazio UK, a subsidiary of Telespazio (a joint venture between Leonardo and Thales).

e2E is a leading UK systems engineering, consulting and design house that delivers high-quality, bespoke technical engineering support, focusing on the defence, space, and satellite communications sectors. In Telespazio UK, it has found a complementary partner with a track record of delivering systems, services, and engineering support to a range of space agencies and national, civil and defence organisations.

The sensitive nature of much of e2E’s work meant that a trusted M&A partner with specific experience in confidential markets was needed. This also mandated a closed process with a select number of strategically significant potential buyers, rather than a broad outreach, to protect client and company data integrity while navigating complex security issues.

LAVA Advisory Partners’ knowledge and network in the aerospace and defence markets, combined with its ability to understand each buyer’s M&A strategy, approvals process, and culture, allowed the firm to hand-deliver this exciting opportunity to a limited number of pre-vetted and pre-qualified parties. Minimising market chatter while maximising cultural fit and returns to shareholders was vital, and LAVA Advisory Partners was fully embedded in the preparation, planning, and negotiation to secure the best outcome.

Large aerospace and defence providers continue to focus on acquiring specialist capabilities at the cutting edge of technological transformation. LAVA Advisory Partner’s personalised approach and senior technical expertise mean the firm is well-versed in dealing with large institutional players, whilst retaining the agility and SME understanding of a boutique business. This ability to advise across all aspects of a deal, despite complex security protocols and disparate corporate environments, made the firm the right choice for the sale of e2E.

Tom Rowe-Jones Director, LAVA Advisory Partners

Having built the business to where it is today, it was crucial to find a buyer who could continue e2E’s growth and work in partnership to unlock more exciting contracts in a thriving sector. LAVA Advisory Partners’ understanding of our business and what has driven its success, as well as the particular sensitivities of the industry, was key to delivering an outstanding result.

Barry Ross Founder and CEO, e2E

LAVA Advisory Partners’ creativity in devising exactly the right process for us stood out as a novel, bespoke approach in an industry where many players seem to offer the same solutions. Combined with their expertise in the aerospace and defence market, they became an obvious choice to advise us on this transaction, and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

Andy Thomas e2E Private Equity Partner, YFM

LAVA Advisory Partners is pleased to have delivered such a positive outcome for e2E and YFM and looks forward to continuing to support their future success alongside the wider private equity community.
