LAVA ushers in a new era of team engagement with appointment of Kathy Thompson

LAVA Advisory Partners is excited to announce that Kathy Thompson has joined the company as Team Coach. Renowned for delivering transformational results for some of the biggest names in financial services, Kathy will bring her unique combination of leadership development skills and effective communication strategies to LAVA’s expanding operations.

Kathy joins LAVA with a stellar track record, which includes pivotal roles at Natwest and Grant Thornton. At Natwest, she gained valuable experience in sales and motivational incentives before stepping into her dream role as a facilitator and trainer.

Later, as a behavioural specialist at Grant Thornton, Kathy played a key role in ground-breaking initiatives to redefine the firm’s culture. She also helped design and facilitate the company’s innovative global coaching programmes, with which she is still actively involved, while extending her services to her own high-profile roster.

LAVA has already benefited greatly from Kathy’s expertise following a two-year period of freelance consultations and this new appointment will now see Kathy as part of the team, working one day a week in the business. Her commitment to building a connection-driven environment and aligning employee relationships with business goals has proven invaluable for both internal teams and LAVA’s growing client base.

As LAVA continues to grow, Kathy’s work with individuals, teams, and clients will be integral to optimising team dynamics and engagement strategies, ensuring that the potential of a united team is unlocked to fuel company growth.

At LAVA, we’re not bound by typical industry protocol. We actively seek out new team members who offer diverse perspectives and fresh thought processes – onboarding Kathy is a testament to this. Her work with us so far has been nothing short of transformational and has significantly strengthened our team dynamics while boosting client performance. With Kathy officially on board, we’re poised to continue a program of innovation and deliver even greater results for our clients

Simon Woodcock Partner, LAVA Advisory Partners

Speaking about her appointment, Kathy said, “I am thrilled to take on the official role of Team Coach at LAVA. Their commitment to continuous learning and innovation is inspiring and has already led to some impressive results. They are a truly unique company and I look forward to building on the work we’ve done so far and contributing my expertise to LAVA’s trailblazing approach to M&A.”

As LAVA continues on its growth trajectory, marked by another deal in the education sector with the acquisition of Boundary Oak by Globeducate, backed by Providence Equity, Kathy’s appointment is set to add to this momentum. With Kathy on board, LAVA continues to challenge traditional M&A practices with its fresh, innovative approach, offering efficient, disruptive, and high-performance strategies and services for clients.
